FAO assistance in Jordan is shaped by the Country Programming Framework (CPF) 2017-2021, which sets out four priority areas for technical cooperation: Disaster preparedness and response in the agriculture sector Sustainable development and use of natural resources, including water, land, range and forests Resilience of rural and peri-urban livelihoods Competitiveness of agricultural products in domestic and export markets, also aimed at achieving inclusive growth and employment. During the course of 2016-2017, FAO provided substantive support to the country on the following key issues: i) assessment of bio-solids and their use for the production of biogas and compost; ii) policy assessment for water and energy use in agriculture; and iii) provision of agriculture-related livelihoods support to host communities and refugees affected by the Syria crisis.
