About
The Ethiopian Kale Heywet Church Development Commission (EKHCDC) was established as the country's development branch of the Ethiopian Kale Heywet Church (EKHC). It was founded as a reaction to the famine that took place in the country's northern region in the 1980s.
EKHCDC's vision is a world with individuals, groups, institutions, and communities inhabiting healthy environments by the year 2025 and beyond.
EKHCDC has been putting a lot of effort into revitalizing health, water and sanitation, education, and other sectors. Its projects and programs are planned to help a half million people in a variety of locations, including SNNP, Oromia, Amhara, and Benshangul Gumuz.
EKHCDC aims to help the community achieve sustainable development by strategically harnessing its untapped resources to meet their physical, psychological, economic, and spiritual needs.
As for Global Alliance/Partnership, the organization has worked with over 40 foreign donors and allies, which since 2012 have assisted EKHCDC in contributing to the likely fulfillment of the MDGs.
