The Guaman Poma de Ayala Center is a non-governmental development organization working since 1979 in Cusco, Peru. Almost thirty years to accompany the poorest have taught us the importance of developing the skills of the most disadvantaged people and strengthen institutions as a means to escape poverty and achieve governance at local and regional level and eventually at national level.
For the first, the development of the capacities of the most disadvantaged population, food security prompt actions ranging from the construction of irrigation systems to the distribution of Andean for inclusion in the daily diet crops; favor the access to basic services like water , promote the increased income of the people by promoting small business and culinary artisans and networks . In the historic center of Cusco , considered as World Heritage Site, improve the quality of life for residents by providing access to basic services and projects for the rehabilitation of their homes, actions that directly affect the recovery of the built heritage.
