Sengwer Indigenous Community Trust (SICT) work on social, cultural, economic and environmental issues that affect Sengwer and other traditional forest dwelling Indigenous Peoples and local communities. SICT is a non-profit, non-political, volunteer-run indigenous organization registered as a Trust in Kenya. It was founded in 2021 by members of Sengwer Council of Elders, Sengwer Traditional Dancers Group, Sengwer Indigenous Women and Youth Groups, Sengwer of Embobut CBO and Sengwer Indigenous Peoples Programme in order to address fundamental freedoms; human and land rights; and environmental challenges faced by the indigenous community. It received formal registration in 2022.
