Wrocławska Fundacja Filmowa

Wrocław Film Foundation is our joint adventure with cinema. We love the art of film and we try to transform passion into action. We create projects, organize events, and talk about what deserves to be noticed in the field of film.
In our organization, film enthusiasts with different skills join forces. In the foundation team you will find cultural animators, cultural managers, film producers, film critics, film experts. Since 2012, we have been trying to present non-commercial features, engaging documentaries, beautiful and wise animations, and in this we remember that young creators who are just starting to reach the audience with their sensitivity need the most support. We care about short films, as a film form that does not fit into the cinema repertoires.

This is the purpose of the “Okiem Młodych” competitions for young creators of feature films, documentaries and animations, held as part of the SPEKTRUM Świdnik Film Festival organized by us (together with the Świdnica Cultural Center). Through the “Polish Cinema for Beginners” project, we show the most valuable Polish feature films to foreigners. For this activity, in 2016 we received the Polish Film Institute award in the “Film Education” category. Since 2014, we have been organizing the MIASTOmovie festival, within which carefully selected documentaries open up a discussion on the challenges of contemporary Polish cities. In subsequent years, other initiatives – both smaller and larger – were added to our set of activities. At the moment, the foundation’s project family also includes secret neighborhood film screenings under the banner of the “Ołbin” Cinema Cooperative and “Dolnośląskie Spacery Filmowe”, an attempt to tell the story of the film heritage of our region. We sometimes support interesting titles in the field of distribution. We are about to take our first steps on the publishing market.
