The Greater ABC Intermunicipal Consortium brings together the Greater ABC municipalities for planning, articulating and defining actions of a regional nature. The entity was founded in 1990 by Santo André, São Bernardo do Campo, São Caetano do Sul, Diadema, Mauá, Ribeirão Pires and Rio Grande da Serra. Since February 8, 2010, the entity has become the first multisectoral consortium of public law and municipal nature in the country.
