About
The Student Research Center South Württemberg (SFZ) is an institution for the promotion of scientifically interested and gifted students in the Swabian town of Bad Saulgau. It offers schoolchildren between Lake Constance and Stuttgart the opportunity to carry out their own research projects and to present their results at national and international competitions. The founder of the SFZ is Director of Studies a. D.Rudolf Lehn.
The spectrum of research areas at the SFZ is broad and not limited to physics Rather, the students also work on projects in the fields of mathematics, computer science, chemistry, biology, technology and geology. In addition to the small projects, on which one to three students work independently, there are large projects that are worked on by many students over several years. Examples are the construction of a wind tunnel and an atomic force microscope.
The mission of the non-profit association is to be a research center for all schoolchildren from the southern Württemberg region, in which young STEM students are supported and inspired at a high level. In addition, the SFZ is a recognized institution where teachers develop high-quality teaching and learning materials for the STEM field.
