About
Vision: towards an appropriate legal system, and contribute to the activation of principles and best practices to consolidate the principles of democracy and protect the rights of individuals in Palestine.
The Palestinian Lawyers Association seeks to provide an incubator for elite jurists with the aim of exchanging expertise and legal knowledge, and preparing various legal and policy studies, in order to enrich, deepen and disseminate legal scientific knowledge, and establish a culture of the rule of law and its enforcement mechanisms among individuals and institutions in Palestine. As well as the active contribution to proposing legislative policies that enhance the status and rights of individuals in line with the existing political, economic and social conditions in the Palestinian reality, and preparing legislative proposals through which these policies are reflected in the various legislations in force in Palestine; This contributes to protecting the rights of individuals and their various freedoms. Objectives and activities of the Association:
1. Providing an incubator for a group of jurists with the aim of exchanging experiences and legal knowledge, and preparing legal and policy studies that mainly aim to express observations on various important legislations in Palestine.
2. Studying, analyzing, criticizing and evaluating the various types and forms of legislation in force in Palestine, and expressing observations regarding them, including proposing the necessary amendments to them within a systematic plan.
3. Expressing a legal opinion on draft laws and regulations by comparing them with neighboring countries and ascertaining their suitability with the existing conditions in Palestine, and the availability of the necessary tools for the enforcement and application of these legislations in light of the available capabilities.
4. Encouraging the publication of research in all areas of the various legal fields in general, and in issues related to legislative adequacy and law enforcement mechanisms in Palestine in particular.
5. Providing advice to public institutions, and preparing training courses for those working in these institutions to promote best practices in issues related to legislative drafting, legislative policy, legislative adequacy, and assessing the regulatory impact of legislation.
6. Networking with other associations and with all national or international bodies working in the association's field of competence, in order to exchange legal knowledge.
