About

The Spanish Group for Hematopoietic Transplantation and Cell Therapy (GETH) was established in 1994 and since then has been working to improve the quality of life of patients undergoing Hematopoietic Transplantation, through research and development of new therapeutic strategies. At its foundation, it was born as a cooperative group within the Spanish Association of Hematology and Hemotherapy (now SEHH). Its aims are to promote, both in Spain and abroad, the dissemination of scientific knowledge related to Hematopoietic Transplantation and Cell Therapy, to encourage and promote cooperative studies between the teams that carry out this type of transplantation and to provide clear information on HSCT and CT, centers that perform these techniques on patients and relatives.

Today GETH is formed at an institutional level by 73 Spanish hospitals (almost all those that perform some type of transplant), 4 cordon banks and 2 Portuguese hospitals. Individually, more than 1,500 health professionals in the field of hematopoietic transplantation (hematologists, pediatricians, biologists, nurses, immunologists, data managers, etc.) are members of GETH, working collaboratively for development and scientific research.
