About

Sydney Church of England Grammar School (SHORE) is an independent, Anglican, day and boarding school for boys, located in North Sydney, New South Wales, Australia.

Established in 1889 by the Church of England, Shore currently caters for approximately 1600 students from kindergarten to year 12, including 200 boarders from years 6 to 12. The school is co-educational from Early Learning Centre to year 2, and these students are housed on separate campus in suburban Northbridge.

Shore is committed to an education based upon a credible Christian faith, a belief that all can learn and the idea that a human being is an integrated whole of creative intellect, dynamic spirit, generous friendship and the ability to act positively in the world.

Aims of the school
To equip students to participate in the wider community through a broad and well-rounded education of the highest standard.

> With a Christian perspective of the world.
> As responsible citizens.
> With academic achievements commensurate with their ability.
> With a knowledge of who they are, how they should live and how to relate to others.
> With a questioning mind and a continuing desire to learn.

The Shore Foundation
The Shore Foundation plays an important role within the School as we continue to work hard in supporting the School in achieving excellence in education while maintaining fees at the lower end of the spectrum for comparable independent schools.  To achieve our goals we actively engage the support of the Shore community through a variety of events and programmes including Icebreaker, All Sports Lunch (biennial), Garden Party (biennial), Parent Voluntary Donation, Annual Giving and the Bequest Programme.  The generosity and support we receive from the community is greatly appreciated.

Shore is a school with a long history of fine traditions - outstanding academic results, numerous sporting achievements as well as a challenging and diverse co-curricular programme, and Students today are the beneficiaries of years of philanthropy and support.  Shore has a vibrant and active School community and I encourage you to join in the activities of the School and the Foundation.

The Shore Association
The Shore Association was founded in 1938 to help celebrate the School's Jubilee. All families currently at Shore are automatically levied and therefore members of the Shore Association. Parents of old boys of the School, Friends of Shore and past and present Masters are welcome to join. The Association is managed by volunteer parents of boys and girls at the school.
