Institute of Green Economy

The Institute of Green Economy was established in February 2013 by leading experts in the field of academic science, business and public administration to promote the development of the green economy in Ukraine.

Green economy - a new area of activity, which involves the greening of existing industries and the development of new - green, such as renewable energy, organic agriculture, waste recycling. The green economy provides for economic growth, social stability and environmental security and is a practical mechanism for implementing a sustainable development strategy. Potapenko V., Strategic priorities of safe development of Ukraine on the basis of green economy, 2012, Kyiv.

The Agreement on European Integration of Ukraine provides for the implementation of a number of measures to green the economy in the context of the EU Eastern Partnership program , which is implemented under the auspices of the European Commission through the OECD , UNEP , UNIDO .

The green economy is a practical mechanism for implementing the strategy of sustainable development , which involves taking into account the interests not only of present but also future generations.

Green growth is a type of growth of gross domestic product with no increase in the use of non-renewable natural resources in terms of reducing the level of negative impact on the environment.
