SOS MEDITERRANEE

SOS MEDITERRANEE is a civil society, European, humanitarian organization for sea rescue. It was founded in May 2015 in response to the recurring maritime accidents and the lack of sufficient rescue capacity in the central Mediterranean.

With our rescue ships Aquarius (2016 - 2018) and Ocean Viking (since July 2019), a professional rescue crew and a medical team, we are deployed in the central Mediterranean to respond to the humanitarian emergency. Since the beginning of our operations, we have been able to come to the aid of over 35,000 people and bring them to a safe place. More about the origin of SOS MEDITERRANEE.

The association SOS MEDITERRANEE Switzerland was founded in August 2017 and works in a European association with teams in Germany, France and Italy. Together we finance the rescue operations with the Ocean Viking.
