Kololo High School was founded early 1970 by Uganda Muslim Supreme Council (UMSC) originally it was located a long Kololo Hill Drive in Kololo up to 1997 when the premises were repossessed by the Agha Khan Education services (AKES).
After leaving the original premises, the school moved to rented premises in Kamwokya trading centre in 2001 from where it was shifted to plot 102/104 on William Street on the 7th May 2003 to date Kololo High School is mixed day O’ and A’ levels Secondary school with the current students’ population of 2806. The high enrollment has been boosted mainly by the USE and UPOLET(Universal Secondary Education and Universal Post O’Level Training) policies. It was by extension led to the introduction of a double shift teaching arrangement where S.1, S.2 and S.5 study in the afternoon while S.3, S.4 and S.6 study in the morning session. At its previous meeting the Board of Governors’ Finance Committee Meeting held on 12th May, 2016, it was recommended to review the 2012 – 2015 Strategic Plan to come up with 2016 – 2019 strategic plan. We do recommend that the vision, mission and some objectives be maintained. There are however, a few objectives added on to reflect the current reality and dynamism of the Education sector. Currently the teaching staff is 97 and the non teaching staff is 14.

The purpose of 2016 -2019 strategic plan is to re-strategize and plan effectively bearing in the mind and well aware of the objectives and implementation guidelines of the current USE/UPOLET(Universal Secondary Education and Universal Post O’Level Training) policies plus the ever increasing enrollment amidst the current location and the infrastructure in place in addition to the resource personnel on ground.
