Ecumenical Commission for Human Development [ECHD] is an ecumenical, independent, Christian, advocacy, humanitarian relief, and development agency, founded in 2010, incorporated under Societies Registration Act, XXI of 1860 as non-profit organization envision to build a world free from poverty, disease, and injustice by the love of God as manifested in Jesus Christ that brings about justice, peace and development for all.

ECHD is striving to mobilize to live faithfully in God’s love, nurturing a common understanding of the faith, responding to the challenges to human dignity and acting prophetically in word, life, and healing services.

ECHD’s work is founded on the belief that all human beings are created by God in his own image as equals with the same basic rights and obligations and striving to work with ecumenical and secular partners to help rebuild after disasters and to empower local communities to find lasting solutions to poverty, hunger, disease and injustice.

ECHD work is to uphold humanity’s basic rights regardless of gender, political belief, religion or ethnic origin based around five core values, which are aims to facilitate visible acts of human compassion, promote justice and civic responsibility, develop responsible stewardship of God’s creation and contribute to facilitating peace.

ECHD is utilizing different working approaches by providing emergency assistance in disasters, long-term development cooperation, strengthening fellowship with churches and ecumenical organizations and advocating for justice and peace with public authorities, media, religious leaders, and other stakeholders. 

ECHD have committed founding members, advisory board, senior management team and operational teams and volunteers in diversity and commitment along with strong relationships with marginalized communities, stakeholders and local and international ecumenical and secular partners.
