SOLIDARITÉS INTERNATIONAL is present in the capital, N’Djamena, for coordination, as well as in two bases: Goré in the far South and in Ati in the center of the country. SOLIDARITÉS INTERNATIONAL works with the most vulnerable population groups mainly in agriculture and animal husbandry, which have been in decline in the last few years. In order to compensate for their insufficient income and the high rate of malnutrition recorded in the region, our teams have been working to optimize resource management. They have established risk reduction activities to prepare the population for natural catastrophes so that they become more resistant to climate hazard. In order to respond to the vulnerability peaks during the hunger gap, SOLIDARITÉS INTERNATIONAL provides seasonal responses mainly in the form of cash support.

In order to stabilize and empower local populations SOLIDARITÉS INTERNATIONAL has developed economic opportunities and jobs and activities to help people attain economic self-sufficiency and nutritional and food security.

In order to have a direct impact on malnutrition our teams distribute therapeutic food to children under 5 and organize awareness raising campaigns in nutrition and hygiene best practices. Given the continual water needs due to drought, our teams concentrate on rehabilitating wells and community water management. This limits the exposure to contaminated water and contributes to the fight against malnutrition.

The rise in numbers of Cholera cases is fueled by deteriorated water, hygiene and sanitation quality. SOLIDARITÉS INERNATIONAL deploys water, sanitation and hygiene (WASH) in conjunction with the health sector in integrated interventions with health partners.
