District Heating Company of Bucuresti (Radet)

RADET Bucharest is the administrator of the largest district heating system in Romania, holding 43% of the market . It provides thermal energy for approximately 562,000 apartments, representing approximately 8,200 blocks of flats and 320 buildings, in which 1.21 million inhabitants live, as well as for approximately 4,900 institutions, social objectives and economic agents.

RADET Bucharest is the operator of the public thermal energy supply system, providing 72% of the capital's thermal energy needs . Of the total thermal energy provided by RADET, the population consumption represents approximately 90%.

The object of activity is the transport, production, distribution and supply of thermal energy . Complementary, it carries out other activities to support the object of activity, in accordance with its own statute and with the legislation in force (equipment maintenance, repair of damage to the system, design, IT, etc.).
The number of existing staff within RADET, on 30.09.2019 , was 3070 employees.

Central heating system

The district heating system of Bucharest is presented as a well-defined set of thermal energy installations that provide heating and hot water for consumption.

The centralized heat supply system in Bucharest includes:
• production units;
• hot water transport network for the district heating system;
• distribution network of the secondary thermal agent for the preparation of hot water for consumption and the provision of heating;
• thermal points, centralized stations and thermal modules with the related installations and equipment.
