In aa. 2002-2003 the trolleybus parks were completed with 29 new transport units of the “Skoda” brand.

On the initiative and with the contribution of the Chisinau City Hall, on City Day, as a rule, new trolleybus routes are offered as a gift, equipped with comfortable dispatchers, modern traction stations.

In 2006, 3 trolleybuses from the Republic of Belarus were purchased: 2 articulated trolleybuses, 1 trolleybus with a high level of comfort. Also in 2006, 20 IuMZ T-2 trolleybuses were purchased, equipped with the electronic traction motor steering system, manufactured in Chisinau.

Until now, the first administrative and production blocks of the enterprise have been preserved. In one of them is located the museum of "Glory of Labor", where the history of the development of electric transport in the capital is reflected. From the panels we see those who are the pride of the team, those who have worked and continue to work with dedication to the company, enriching its heritage and raising its prestige.

The basic nucleus of Regia Transport Electric is the work veterans - the pioneers of electric transport. Usually, people love working at the company and dedicate themselves to it forever. Currently, ME “Regia Transport Electric” has established itself through its activity as one of the largest economic units in the country, which has contemporary engineering communications and a road network that has
length of 285 km, serving 24 routes that connect the city center with each sector of the capital. Every day, 350 thousand Chisinau residents and guests of the capital, thanks to the electric transport that remains the most ecological and most accessible, benefit from the transportation services offered by Regia Transport Electric.

In 2008, Mr. Gheorghe Morgoci was appointed General Manager of the "Electric Transport Authority" Chisinau. Various projects are being implemented in the trend of continuous development of electric passenger transport. Thus, within the project "Public Transport Chisinau", being supported by European structures:
European Bank for Reconstruction and Development; European Investment Bank; The European Neighborhood Fund, on August 12, 2010 ME "Regia Transport Electric" concluded the Loan Agreement for the purchase of new trolleybuses. Thus, 102 AKSM-321 trolleybuses were purchased, manufactured by "Belcommunmaş" from Minsk, Belarus.

The successful completion of the mentioned project generated the conclusion in October 2011 between Chisinau in the person of the Mayor General Dorin Chirtoaca and Minsk, R. Belarus in the person of the Mayor Mr. Ladutiko, of the Joint Cooperation Agreement for the assembly of trolleybuses in .Chisinau and financial guarantee. In this context, in 2012 was concluded a Contract on long-term production and technological cooperation between "Belcommun-mach" from Minsk and ME "Regia Transport Electric" from Chisinau. The project "Renewal of electric transport in the Republic of Moldova" provides for the assimilation of the assembly production of trolleybuses model AKSM-321 within / at ME "Regia Transport Electric" Chisinau.
