Romanian Naval Authority / Autoritatea Navală Română

The Romanian Naval Authority is the specialized central authority subordinated to the Ministry of Transport, in the field of navigation safety and ship security.

The Romanian Naval Authority is a public institution with extra-budgetary financing, with legal personality, established by the merger of the Civil Navigation Inspectorate with the Autonomous Administration "Romanian Naval Register". Following the merger, ANR took over all the rights and obligations of the two legal entities that were dissolved.

The organizational structure of the Naval Authority includes its own central apparatus (consisting of departments, services, offices) and the operative territorial bodies, which carry out their activity in the territory.

The central apparatus of ANR has in its composition the functional services, the Navigating Personnel Directorate, the Inspections Directorate, Naval Safety and Security, the Technical Directorate, the Economic Directorate and the European Affairs and International Relations Directorate.
