Poșta Română S.A. is the national operator of postal and courier services, established in 1862 in Bucharest, Romania. It is the only provider of a universal service nationwide at affordable rates and high-quality standards for its customers.

Poșta Română is the largest operator in Romania with a territorial network of over 5600 post offices. With over 23,000 employees, the Romanian Post serves over 8.5 million clients every month. Since its inception, the Romanian Post has developed into an institution worthy of trust and respect and carries out its activities in the field of postal communications, the main purpose of which is the administration, development, operation of postal services and cooperation with similar foreign organizations for the provision of these services at the international level. It is organized in eight regional branches, 41 country post offices and seven regional transit centres where the receipt, processing and transportation of postal items are carried out. The Romanian Post also provides postal, financial, banking, direct marketing, indoor advertising, e-mail, commercial and other contract-based services and concluded agreements that are not included in the scope of the universal postal service.
