The General Director for National Roads and Motorways is also responsible for:

participation in the implementation of transport policy in the field of roads,
collecting data and preparing information about the public road network,
supervision over the preparation of road infrastructure for the needs of state defense,
issuance of permits for a single passage in a specified time and along a fixed route of non-standard vehicles,
cooperation with road administrations of other countries and international organizations,
cooperation with local government authorities in the development and maintenance of road infrastructure,
traffic management on national roads,
protection of road engineering monuments,
performing tasks related to the preparation and coordination of construction and operation, or only operation, of toll motorways.
