Description

Overall project design of the new production facilities for Wattenspapier paper mill.

The Wattens paper mill is one of the market leaders in the paper industry. The existing premises and buildings were no longer able to fulfil the requirements arising from new production sequences. ILF’s architects therefore developed an innovative logistics concept together with the Client. In the course of the implementation of the first construction phase, a milestone was laid for the future development of the company: in place of the old production hall a new plant was erected.
The three-storey reinforced concrete structure accommodates highly sensitive machinery. Dynamic analyses of the structure were carried out with regard to the occurring vibrations of the machines. The first production machine was put into operation only 7 months after the start of construction. The target-oriented approach adopted by ILF’s engineers made it possible to not only satisfy but even exceed the Client‘s requirements with regard to costs, deadlines and design.

Client: Papierfabrik Wattens GmbH & Co KG.
