The Decentralized Rural Infrastructure and Livelihood Project is a project being implemented in 18 hilly districts of Nepal that are among the poorest in the country and most affected by conflict. The project is being implemented with the loan financing of ADB and additional grant of SDC. The major components of this projects are; i) community development and rural livelihood restoration, ii) capacity building and decentralized governance, iii) rural transport infrastructure, and iv) project management services aims to achieve improved access, improvement of livelihood of people in project area and reduce rural poverty. Project provided new and rehabilitated rural roads and main walking trails to improve access to and from isolated, poor rural areas. The project constructed using the Labor-based, Environmentally-friendly, Participatory Approach (LEP).

The consulting services included Feasibility Study, Survey, Design, IEE, Social Mobilisation and Construction Supervision ofNagma - Sinja - Choutha (55 Km).

The project started with a pre-construction phase focusing on initiating the social mobilization and capacity building activities, planning the first round of sub-projects, and preparing a comprehensive project procedures manual. The main objective of the Consultants is to ensure smooth implementation of the project and maintain a high quality of work at all times. The Consultants is responsible for helping the district and DPOs to assess and recommend sub-projects (i.e. construction, rehabilitation & upgrading of district / village level roads, main trail, main trail bridges etc) including organizing the feasibility studies, surveys, IEE, design, implementation and supervision of the sub-projects.

Total Project Cost: NRs. 320 millions.
