management4health (m4h) is a network of health professionals founded in 2013, meanwhile a rapidly growing consultancy firm in the international health development sector. For one of our hospital infrastructure projects in Nepal, management4health (m4h) is currently seeking to recruit an experienced Team Leader (full-time on-site) that will ensure professional project steering and liaison with key stakeholders and partners. Further details of the project will be provided during the interview process.
Responsibilities:
The Team Leader will work closely with the Client (Ministry of Health and Population), the backstopping team at management4health in Germany as well as the project team on-site and short-term experts. The scope of services includes, but is not limited to:
- Overall responsibility for planning, coordination, monitoring and supervision of construction works, monitoring and evaluation, financing
- Taking the role as The Engineer, according to FIDIC conditions of contract (KfW’s Harmonized Edition of the Conditions of Contract for Construction prepared and copyrighted by the International Federation of Consulting Engineers – 2010)
- Responsible for liaison with all stakeholders and communication
- Organisation of workshops as needed including introduction in FC procedures to the Client (disbursement, procurement)
- Maintaining the project’s monitoring and evaluation system – including indicators, updated baseline studies, reports, mid-term review and final review
- Execution and/or monitoring of accompanying measures and training measures
- Financial management of the overall project budget
- Establishment of stakeholder coordination mechanisms (e.g. steering committee, inter-sectoral coordination)
Qualifications:
- Civil Engineer, architect or similar qualification
Required expertise:
- At least 15 years of proven experience in health facility design and construction in Low and Middle Income Countries
- At least 5 years of experience in the region (South Asia, including Afghanistan, Pakistan, India, Nepal, Sri Lanka, Maldives, Bangladesh, Bhutan).
- At least 2 similar project references (construction supervision and contract management according to FIDIC or any other internationally recognised contracting system, investment volume 10+m EUR) within the past 8 years
- 5 years of experience in project management and as team leader.
- Relevant working experience with German Development Cooperation (KfW) would be considered a strong asset
- Structured co-ordination, organisational, time management, monitoring and communication skills
- Experience in budget and financial management
- Fluent in English (oral and writing)
- Good report writing skills in English
- Thorough familiarity with MS Office, especially Word, Excel and Power Point
