Purpose of role

The role will be a senior project manager with the purpose of supporting the global water resources team with expertise related to project management, technical expertise and knowledge, client engagement and proposal involvement. The role involves being a key member of the team located in Denmark and having at least 10 years of experience with international or national projects related to water resources as well as project management and client engagement. 

Specific objectives for this position

• Project manager or Team Leader on our international projects all related to water resources management or operational forecasting of flood or drought. 
• Technical input on our international projects as being a water resources or modelling expert will be integrated into the role and the specific focus will depend on your experience, and knowledge but we will expect that you can take an active and leading role as a technical expert.
• Mentoring and advising our other technical experts is a responsibility in the role and the specific content will depend on your experience and background.
• Client engagement and sales will be a key part of the position, and the role will either have specific client account responsibilities or being a supporting role for some of our existing client accounts (the focus will depend on your regional and client experience). 
• Proposal management or proposal involvement will be an integrated part of the role where you will be part of our proposal team and actively be involved in proposal work. 
• Work closely with DHIs global business units both with the water resources global business unit but also across the different technical domains at DHI.

Key responsibilities

• Project manager or Team Leader on our international projects
• Provide technical input on our international projects as a water resources or modelling expert
• Responsible for client engagement and sales related to specific clients or regions 
• Involvement and input to proposal work and being part of our proposal team
• Deliver input and support to sales teams across the department
• Willing to work in teams across the global segment and share knowledge
• Lead and drive key activities related to project management, technical activities etc,

Skills, Knowledge & Experience

• Master degree in a water resource related topic
• More than 10 years of experience from a similar or related position
• Experience with Project Management of large/complex international projects
• Background and technical knowledge related to areas as water resources, numerical modelling, flood and drought forecasting, water resources planning, groundwater management, disaster risk management, water quality etc. 
• Proven experience from international projects preferably in Africa or Southeast Asia
• Strong focus towards client engagement and sales of services
• Ability and focus on providing services and solution supporting sustainable water resource management and resilience in the least developed countries. 
• Proficiency in English is required and French or Spanish will be an added value
• Readiness to travel 1-2 months in total in a year.
