Sheladia Associates is seeking a professional Health and Safety Specialist to join our team for upcoming Road project in Fiji Islands funded by the World Bank.
The purpose is to improve the climate resilience of the identified infrastructure investments that would further Vanua Levu’s sustainable tourism development, specially developing the Cross Island Road into a tourism scenic route.
Required Qualifications:
· 8 Years of overall experience.
· Proficient in developing and implementing health and safety plans compliant with FRA OHS standard and also international standards and regulations for World Bank projects.
· Experienced in conducting risk assessments and hazard analyses to identify potential health and safety hazards and develop mitigation strategies.
· Skilled in designing and delivering training programs to educate project staff and contractors on health and safety protocols and procedures.
· Capable of conducting regular inspections and audits to ensure adherence to health and safety standards and identify areas for improvement.
· Knowledgeable about emergency response protocols and procedures, including evacuation plans and first aid protocols, to ensure timely and effective responses to incidents.
· Additional expertise in promoting a culture of health and safety awareness among project stakeholders through communication campaigns and initiatives.
· Experienced in liaising with relevant authorities and stakeholders to ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and standards.
· Dedicated to monitoring and evaluating health and safety performance metrics to track progress and make recommendations for continuous improvement.
