Description

Global objective
The objective of this assignment is to analyse and understand the hydrological and hydrogeological dynamic of the Kinoni watershed (including the Mugogo lowland area) including modeling to inform the impact of the flood control measures and suggest appropriate measures (including land restoration). On this basis, scenarios to mitigate the challenges identified are proposed and initial detailed studies and the related tender documents are elaborated in order to obtain a submission-ready “Detailed design”, including the necessary supporting information, in accordance with the World Bank Environmental and social safeguards.

Qualifications required:
Bachelor degree qualifications in civil engineering, hydraulic structure engineering or in geology. Language skills: Minimum requirements: Good English communication skills both orally and in writing; at least C-1 level proficiency in English Assets: At least C-1 level proficiency in Kinyarwanda.

Professional experience required:
• General professional experience: At least 3 years of practical experience in Rwanda in civil engineering, preferably linked with hydraulic infrastructures • Specific professional experience: Proven experiences (at least 2) in design of hydraulic structure engineering (detention ponds, dykes, small dams) Proven experiences in cave identification Assets: Proven field experiences in geology, Proven experience in supervision of hydraulic structure building, Experience in landscape restoration
