Launched under the impetus of the Guadeloupe Region and the French Office for Biodiversity, the Regional Agency for Biodiversity of the Guadeloupe Islands (ARB-IG) contributes to meeting the challenge of reconquering biodiversity, in a context of strong and rapid erosion of the Living. Guadeloupe is part of one of the 35 global "hot spots" of biodiversity. Insularity, relief and tropical climate are in fact at the origin of a great variety of natural environments and species, with a high rate of endemism. The ARB-IG aims to develop and share knowledge, support local stakeholders and raise awareness among the general public in order to allow the preservation and enhancement of this unique biodiversity in the world on which we depend.
