Ministry of Mining Industry and Geology

Main tasks:

• implementation of a unified state policy on geological research, use and protection of the subsoil, as well as management of mining relations;
• rapid development of the mineral-raw material base of the republic, primarily underground water, precious, non-ferrous, rare, rare metals and uranium, as well as hydrocarbon raw material base, rapid search for new types of mineral raw materials and their deposits;
• to increase the efficiency and effectiveness of geological exploration, to ensure the growth of mineral reserves, and to replenish the mineral-raw material base of economic sectors, taking into account the creation of new local industrial capacities;
• conducting an active investment policy and creating a favorable investment climate in the field of geological exploration and industrial exploitation of mineral deposits;
• in order to organize modern productions of competitive products, first of all, to prepare proposals for diversification of raw material sources of branches operating in the industry in the republic's territories;
• to ensure the monitoring and control of long-term, medium-term and annual state programs for the development and replenishment of the mineral-raw base, to objectively assess the volume, quality and reliability of the results of the study of the methodology of the geological study of the subsoil assessment;
• geological survey of the earth's surface, extraction of minerals (including mineral, thermal, industrial groundwater), processing of mineral raw materials, as well as provision of geological surveying of mining operations by legal and physical entities implementation of state control over compliance with the requirements of legal documents and regulatory documents in the field of water use and protection;
• implementation of effective measures for the modernization of the geological network due to the rapid introduction of high-performance modern geological research equipment, the provision of advanced equipment and innovative technologies;
• implementation of systematic measures for the training, retraining and improvement of the qualifications of highly qualified personnel with higher, secondary, and vocational education for the field of geology, as well as improvement of mechanisms for stimulating their work.
