Garda de Coasta / The Coast Guard

The Coast Guard is a regional structure, subordinate to the General Inspectorate of the Border Police, with competence in the area of 30 kilometers from the Romanian state border inland, within the boundaries of Constanta and Tulcea counties, at the Black Sea and in the area of 10 kilometers from a on both sides of the Danube bank within the Ialomita and Tulcea counties, with the mission of ensuring:

• border surveillance and control of its passage with the Republic of Ukraine for a length of 207.9 kilometers:
• border surveillance and control of its crossing with the Republic of Bulgaria for a length of 161.3 kilometers:
• the supervision of the inner Danube, the Macin and Sulina canals open to international navigation within the jurisdiction of the Border Police Sectors Cernavoda, Isaccea, Tulcea, Pardina, Chilia and Sulina;
• border surveillance and control of the passage of the territorial sea, the contiguous zone and the exclusive economic zone of Romania at the Black Sea, for a length of 193.5 kilometers;
• compliance with the provisions of the treaties, agreements, conventions and border protocols concluded with the Republic of Ukraine and Bulgaria and the international ones to which Romania is a party, regarding the state border.
