Ministry of Heritage and Tourism

Ministry of Heritage and Tourism works on preserving and maintaining archaeological sites, museums and historical buildings as well as collecting and archiving documents and records. It also preserves the traditional arts and folklores, as an essential element in the Omani heritage, and promotes theatre, music, cinema and fine arts. The Ministry boosts national participation in the development of Oman’s culture, encourages intellectual production and organizes cultural exhibitions and festivals locally, regionally and internationally in order to reinforce cultural communication with other countries. It also represents the Sultanate at local, regional and international conferences, symposia and meetings in relevant areas.
