Addis Ababa City Administration is a government agency located in Ethiopia which was founded in 1909 as a result of the city’s growing population and economic activity, as well as the need to properly accommodate those coming from different parts of the country. The Municipality includes 10 sub cities (Arada, Bole, Kirkos, Lideta, Yeka, etc.) and the City Administration includes public relations, economic and social bureaus such as the Office of the Mayor, the Mass Media Agency, the Culture & Tourism Bureau, the Communication Affairs Bureau, the Council of Addis Ababa City Government Public Service & Human Development Resource, etc.
The City Administration of Addis Ababa ensures the provision of quality services to citizens, that meet international standards and it is responsible for social well-being and urban development. It deals with roads & transport, construction & housing development, land development & management, industry, education, small & micro enterprise development, water & sewerage, sanitation, recycling, healthcare, labour & social affairs, women & children affairs, HIV/AIDS prevention, etc.
