The Danish Refugee Council (DRC) has been operating in Bangladesh since 2017, providing emergency aid to the Rohingya population entering from neighboring Myanmar. The Cox's Bazar district of Bangladesh now houses the world's largest refugee camp complex. Since 2020, DRC has been working in eight Rohingya camps, as well as a host community sub-district in Cox's Bazar, Ukhiya.
The DRC is most active in Kutupalong-Balukhali, which is home to a large number of Rohingya refugees. DRC collaborates with the Government of Bangladesh's Refugee Relief and Repatriation Commission to provide site management services, improving the camp's housing and living standards. Additionally, the DRC offers specialized protection services, recognizing and implementing assistance programs for disadvantaged adults and children.
