French Customs is an administration with a long history. Also, if its core business is the regulation of the flow of goods, it has been able to develop and diversify its missions to meet new contemporary challenges. Attached to the Ministry of Action and Public Accounts, the departments of the General Directorate of Customs and Indirect Duties (DGDDI) carry out 3 main missions: - a tax mission: it collects approximately 13% of State revenue each year and contributes, like its European counterparts, to the financing of the Community budget. - a mission to fight against fraud and major international trafficking. - a mission to protect the health and safety of citizens.
