The Ministry of Health of Peru is the government ministry responsible for healthcare that has the objective of safeguarding public dignity, promoting health, combatting disease and providing healthcare to all citizens of the country.
It also develops public policies in the field of sanitation. The Ministry manages the National Health System which is based on Integrated Health Networks, the policy for universal health insurance and activities on socioeconomic determinants for the sake of the population's health and well-being.
It aims to help people benefit from universal access to individual and collective health care as well as comprehensive care, regardless of their socioeconomic status or geographical location.
