The Asian Development Bank (ADB), in partnership with Stanford University’s Natural Capital Project, will be conducting the three-day “Asia-Pacific Natural Capital Forum 2023: Mainstreaming Natural Capital Assessments to Address Climate-Food-Nature Nexus” (previously “ADB-Stanford Natural Capital Workshop: Transforming Policy and Investment through Mainstreaming Natural Capital Assessment and Accounting in Projects”) on 7–9 November 2023 at the ADB Headquarters in Manila, Philippines.
This forum aims to convene policymakers, experts, researchers, practitioners, ADB staff, Stanford Staff, and representatives from different countries to discuss natural capital and its ecosystem; understand the concept of innovation and finance solutions as an important mechanism for natural capital conservation; and determine how they may be designed and implemented.
The three-day forum builds on the first training workshop, “Global Forum on Mainstreaming Nature in Decisions” held last April 2023 at Stanford campus, USA.
Objectives
This training, co-organized by Stanford University, aims to:
- enhance awareness and understanding of natural capital approaches;
- strengthen policies and focus on practical implementation; and
- foster sustainable finance solutions in the Asia and the Pacific region.
