Islamic Relief has a main office in Amman and field offices in Mafraq and Ramtha, with forty members of staff across all three.
Through our substantial presence in Jordan, we are supporting both refugees and vulnerable host communities by providing food, health care, education and psycho-social support in Amman, Mafraq, Ramtha, Jarash, Irbid, Baqa’a, Karak, and Ma’an. In the past five years we have reached 869,246 people.
Our work in Jordan began in 1997 with an orphan and child welfare programme. We are currently assisting 1,800 orphans across the country by providing cash and psycho-social support.
Health care moved from being free for Syrian refugees to being subsidised three years ago and since then, the number of Syrians being able to afford health services in Jordan has halved.
