About us
The Swiss Centre for International Health (SCIH) is a service department of the Swiss Tropical and Public Health Institute (Swiss TPH), an associate institute of the University of Basel. Our mission is to improve health systems and population access to effective health services worldwide. We combine scientific knowledge and practical expertise, and offer comprehensive, interdisciplinary and multi-sectoral services based on the experience of the Swiss TPH and its wider network of associates. We work with partners to respond to local needs, thus tailoring our services to the contexts and countries we work in. Services include: Long- and short term project management, Consultancy and advisory, Teaching and training, Operations research. We are present in 60 countries and our over 140 specialists stem from 35 nations and over 20 professions. Our main areas of expertise are represented by four units encompassing the various focuses and competencies of our team. SCIH Thematic Focus Areas are: Health systems and economics, Sexual and reproductive health and HIV/AIDS, Health technology and telemedicine, Systems performance monitoring and evaluation The SCIH is also a WHO collaborating centre for health systems development providing advisory and implementation services in developing health systems worldwide. |
