Description

 

The project’s purpose is to improve the socio-economic conditions of North-West mountain areas of Tunisia, through the reinforcement of 665 families organizations, which live in the rural communities of Sra Rabah and Dar Fatma (Atatfa), Debabsa (Oued Zeen), Frina, Alavet and El Ghdir, placed in Governorate of Jendouda.

The planned activities are:

1. Extention of the Group of Agricultural Development structure (Groupement de Développement Agricole - GDA) of El Ghdir, functional re-organization and equipping: to improve its organizational and administrative capacities.

2. Organization of agricultural producers and breeders into Groups of Economic Interest and into Local Development Committees; they will be connected with the Group of Agricultural Development (GDA).

3. Building, furnishing and organization of a Female Activities Space (Espace d’Activité Féminine - EAF) in the douar of El Ghdir, a training handcraft programme, educational and socio-cultural activities (literacy courses, information days about sexual health, hygiene, familiar violence, women and young people rights, film shows about general concerns: parents/sons conflicts, migration and current affairs, etc.).
The Female Activities Space will be a training and meeting place for young people from 14 to 29 years old, where will be possible to participate to animation activities, cine forum, debates etc.

4. A training programme for micro-firms management and making of a support economic fund for rural activities of involved communities.
