The Panafrican Agency of the Great Green Wall ( APGMV/PAGGW) is an interstate agency, created in 2010, under the aegis of the African Union and CEN-SAD, by the Sahelo- Saharan states to manage the Great Green Wall project. The APGMV's mission is to coordinate and monitor the construction of a green protective barrier against the advance of the desert and to contribute to sustainable development on the Sahelo-Saharan strip mainly between the 100 and 400 mm isohyets on a distance at least 7,000 km long and 15 km wide from Dakar to Djibouti. This route can, if necessary, include shoulder straps. The PAGGW is responsible, in conjunction with the Member States, the African Union, NEPAD and CEN-SAD, for coordinating, monitoring and evaluating all activities relating to the Great Green Wall and mobilizing the necessary resources
