The person will have the following educational background and professional experience:
• At least a Master's Degree preferably in education or social sciences such as political/social/economic sciences, development studies, or similar;
• Strong demonstrated track record with design and formulation of sector-wide approaches in the field of education, especially in a multi-donor context;
• Strong experience with EC procedures and in particular with the design of sector-wide approaches (PCM, programme identification, formulation); and experience in sector reviews/assessment especially in regard to the EU's seven key assessment areas for sector programmes;
• A minimum of 15 years professional experience in international cooperation, of which 10 years should be in the field of education with a focus on basic education;
• Excellent written and spoken English;
• Regional experience in education in Asia, preferably South Asia; country experience in Bangladesh will be considered as an added value.
