Job description
The American Institutes for Research (AIR)’s International Development Division seeks to enhance the capacity of developing countries to improve their quality of life through education and social development and has worked in collaboration with partners in more than 80 countries. Our International Development Division distinguishes itself with exceptional home office support, a collaborative work environment and long term employment relationships. Headquartered in Washington, DC, AIR is currently seeking a Chief of Party for an upcoming four year education project in Nicaragua.

Responsibilities:
The Chief of Party (COP) will provide the vision, technical leadership and management oversight for the project in addition to the supervision, administration, and implementation of the contract in the field.

Qualifications:
Interested candidates should possess the following qualifications: Ph.D. preferred or Master's degree in international education or related field; 10+ years of experience working on USAID funded education projects in developing countries to include knowledge of USAID systems and reporting needs; successful experience managing and providing technical, administrative and financial guidance as either a Chief of Party or similar senior level position on international projects; experience in strategic planning, managing and directing staff and multiple sub-contractors on complex projects; excellent oral and written communication skills in English and Spanish; strong interpersonal skills.
